Meals of Mission

We are super-excited to introduce a new outreach program with a special LBC twist--Meals of Mission! This is a project in which our whole church is participating in the spirit of showing our community love like they've never seen before. Unlike traditional outreach and door-to-door visitation programs, we plan to come with a spaghetti dinner in our hands and a whole lot of love in our hearts! Here's how it works: church members compile a list of names of people in the community who are willing to let us come & visit--anyone can suggest names. Families that have just moved to the area or people without a church home are just two examples of the folks we plan to visit. Once contact is made, a small team will go to the person's home to visit and to bring a spaghetti dinner with all the trimmings--including tea. That's the scope of the program--no strings attached--just good food and a little love.

Below is a list of ways you can help with Meals of Mission--we have listed numerous opportunities to participate even if you are unable to get out & visit or prepare a spaghetti meal. Contact Dawn Priest, Kristie Priest, or Sandra Robbins if you would like to participate, or send an email to meals@lisbonbaptistchurchnc.com.

Ways to Help
  • Commit to prayer for this mission--our number one need! Pray for God to continue to open doors and for an outpouring of love in our community.
  • Provide names of individuals/families to Meals of Mission coordinators.
  • Participate on visitation teams.
  • Cook meals for delivery.
  • Donate supplies:
    • grocery items for preparing meals--ground beef, spaghetti sauce, spaghetti noodles, bread, tea bags, sugar
    • items to assist in transporting food--carryout containers, aluminum foil, GladWare containers, disposable aluminum pans, milk jugs, etc. Note that we plan to use disposable containers that we will not need to retrieve.
    • Paper goods--styrofoam plates, 16 oz. disposable cups, plastic silverware, napkins, etc. We would like to make this a full-service experience where no one has to worry about washing dishes afterward!
